When you’re trying to spread your message on how to protect the environment, it’s important to travel in style. The Washington Post has revealed the extortionate cost of Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt’s first-class travels, with Pruitt’s team claiming he must travel in business class due to unspecified security concerns. His bills include a $1,641 seat from Washington, D.C. to New York City; a $2,903 ticket to Colorado Springs; and at least four first-class tickets costing between $2,000 and $2,600 to meetings near Tulsa, where he lives. The Washington Post reported that Pruitt’s aides tend to sit in coach class, but he’s often found in business class, breaking with the restraint of previous administrators. An EPA spokesperson insisted Pruitt was trying to achieve “positive environmental outcomes and achieve tangible environmental results” through his travels.
