What do officials and wealthy businessmen do for fun in China? Watch tigers get slaughtered for their entertainment, apparently. According to a report by Chinese state media, more than 10 tigers have been killed during so-called “visual feasts,” in which the endangered animals are reportedly electricuted and then slaughtered by a butcher in front of a wealthy audience. Their meat and bones are then sold for thousands of dollars on the black market. Nanfang Daily, which is the official paper of the provincial Communist Party, reported that a butcher who had killed more than 10 tigers, jumped to his death while attempting to escape a police raid in Guangdong province earlier this month.
