No longer can we use the name ‘TomKat’ in present tense. Less than two weeks after Katie Holmes served hubby and Scientology devotee Tom Cruise with divorce filings, the papers were signed and delivered. We don’t know the details of the settlement, but Holmes’s lawyer thanked Cruise’s lawyers for “their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.” From Britney Spears and Jason Alexander to Sandra Bullock and Jesse James, here are other celebrities who were divorced at warp speed.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston

Once considered the ideal of a successful Hollywood couple, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston ended their five-year marriage in 2005. Aniston filed for divorce in March of that year, and the papers were signed, sealed, and delivered by October. Pitt’s been with Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star and fiancé Angelina Jolie for the past seven years.

Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd

After less than a year of marriage, Jenny From the Block filed for divorce from her lesser-known actor hubby, Cris Judd in July of 2002. By January the two were legally done, and Judd apparently had pocketed $15 million in the split. Months later, Lopez accepted a 6.1-carat pink diamond from none other than her Gigli co-star, Ben Affleck.

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds

We really wanted to see what their children would have looked like. Alas, no Reynolds-Johansson spawn from this brief power couple, who had married in 2008. Reynolds filed for divorce from his wife in December 2010, and the split was finalized in July 2011.

Marc Anthony and Dayanara Torres

Another of J. Lo’s former hubbies, Marc Anthony was married to Miss Universe Dayanara Torres in Las Vegas in 2000. The couple separated in the summer of 2002, only to reconcile and renew their vows in December that same year. But the two finally ended things for good in January 2004 when Torres filed for divorce, making things officially over in June. Less than a week after the paperwork was finalized, Anthony wed American Idol judge Lopez.

Sandra Bullock and Jesse James

In 2010 Sandra Bullock won an Oscar from her performance in the inspirational flick The Blind Side. But as the curse of the Oscar would have it, the husband she thanked during her acceptance speech actually was having an affair, or several affairs, with women who were not his wife. Bullock filed for divorce from James in April of 2010, and it was finalized in June. Bullock proceeded with adoption plans to bring home a baby boy, a child she’d intended to raise with James, whom she’d married in 2005.

Britney Spears and Jason Alexander

Britney Spears and Jason Alexander were childhood sweethearts. They decided to tie the knot in January 2004 in a quickie ceremony in Las Vegas. But the 55-hour marriage was quickly annulled, and she referred to their union as “a joke that went too far.”

Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil

Even though Fielder-Civil’s name was tattooed on Amy Winehouse’s breast, the late singer’s hubby filed for divorce in February 2009, on his release from prison after being arrested on suspicion of beating a bar landlord—one incident on his long list of offenses. In July of the same year, the divorce was granted, and Winehouse, who had tied the knot with Fielder-Civil in 2007, remained unmarried until her untimely death in July 2011.

Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock

After only four months of marriage, Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson and rock ’n’ roll head banger Kid Rock filed for divorce in November 2006. Just three months later their marriage was legally over. Days after the split, Anderson said of the marriage, “In many ways, we just don't belong together.”

Madonna and Guy Ritchie

We sort of thought they would last: persisting longer than any other couple on our list, Madonna and Guy Richie’s eight-year marriage was terminated in 2008, in just six weeks and one day. But the swift settlement didn’t come without a cost—Madonna reportedly shelled out more than $75 million to Ritchie in the process.

Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar

Elizabeth Hurley was granted a decree nisi in 2011, and her four-year marriage to businessman Arun Nayar was finalized in less than six weeks. After pictures surfaced of Hurley kissing cricketer Shane Warne in a London hotel, Hurley and her hubby were quick to let the public know they had been separated for some time. Hurley took to Twitter and wrote, “Not a great day. For the record, my husband Arun & I separated a few months ago. Our close family & friends were aware of this.”
