(FILES) A picture taken on March 8, 1993 in Sarajevo shows people carring away a man wounded by a shell which fell near the television station during the Serb forces shelling of the Bosnia-Herzegovina capital. A deadline loomed on July 25, 2008 for Radovan Karadzic to appeal his transfer to the UN war crimes tribunal, as more details emerged about his life on the run and his assets came under threat of confiscation. Karadzic is wanted for orchestrating two of Europe's worst atrocities since World War II, the 44-month siege of Sarajevo which killed more than 10,000 people and Srebrenica massacre of some 8,000 Muslim males.
