Ahead of an event in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday, Donald Trump asked members of the press to come over to him with their cameras so that he could continue to disparage Brett Lacey, the Colorado Springs fire marshal, who rescued Trump from a broken elevator before the GOP presidential nominee went after him for capping the attendance at his rally there. Trump claimed Lacey acted for “political reasons,” adding that the room could have held upwards of 4,000 people. “That’s politics at its lowest, and you ought to check it out,” Trump said. “But it’s really politics at its lowest.” He then walked away from the cameras as reporters shouted questions at him.
