President Trump reportedly still wants his longtime pal, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, to come to the White House to celebrate his football team's Super Bowl victory despite his involvement in a Florida prostitution bust. According to Politico, Trump wants Kraft to join the White House victory celebration this spring—which would reportedly be before Kraft's March 27 arraignment. Two White House officials told the news outlet they considered it a “bad idea” for Kraft to come visit Trump so soon after the scandal, but they said they've kept silent because Trump's loyalty indicated that he'll likely invite Kraft anyway. The president previously defended Kraft after the scandal broke, claiming that the team owner “proclaimed his innocence totally.”
Kraft pleaded not guilty to soliciting prostitution at a Florida massage parlor in late February and could face up to one year in prison if charged, CNBC reports. He reportedly was caught on video engaging in sex acts he paid for in a Jupiter, Florida day spa. A Patriots spokesman “categorically” denied that Kraft took part in “any illegal activity.”
