Could this be the final push to topple Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak? Al Jazeera says as many as two million people turned out in Cairo Tuesday to protest Mubarak. (Reuters offers a soberer estimate of 200,000, while the BBC says the crowds in Cairo’s Tahrir Square “are already much bigger than on previous days.”) They're the largest protests since demonstrations began eight days ago, and other cities are seeing big crowds as well: 250,000 people turned out in Sinai, says Al Jazeera, and tens of thousands more in Alexandria. Should Tuesday’s protest not go as planned, another huge protest may be organized for Friday.
