Portlanders won't be relying on Uber to cart them around over the holidays. The ride-sharing app announced plans to suspend services for the next three months beginning Dec. 21 while the city drafts a regulation framework for services like Uber. Portland agreed to implement changes by April 9, 2015, or Uber may continue services until the new regulations are in place. The news comes just 10 days after the city filed a lawsuit and a cease-and-desist order against Uber for operating illegally. Uber delivered more than 10,000 rides within the few weeks it was in service in Portland, according to the company.
