An inquiry into the Muslim Brotherhood has been ordered by Prime Minister David Cameron, investigating whether the Islamic organization has been using London as a center for planning attacks after the crackdown in Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood has been seen as a more moderate group in the UK, where the focus has often been on smaller militant groups. “Given the concerns now being expressed about the group and its alleged links to violent extremism, it’s absolutely right and prudent that we get a better handle of what the Brotherhood stands for, how they intend to achieve their aims, and what that means for Britain,” a spokeswoman for Cameron said. According to the Times of London, leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood met in London in 2013 to plot a response to the unseating of former President Mohamed Morsi.
