This won’t do anything to dampen speculation about an Israeli strike on Iran. The U.N. nuclear agency issued its most direct statement yet about the military goals of Iran’s nuclear program. The agency said it has “serious concerns” that Iran is secretly developing a nuclear weapon. At least until 2003, the agency said, Iran had a formal program to design warheads and test detonators, and, the agency said, “some activities may still be ongoing.” Iran also tried to mount a nuclear payload onto its Shahab 3 medium-range missiles, which can reach Israel.
