’Tis the season of giving, which was clearly the spirit of one mystery couple who walked into Aramingo Diner in Philadelphia last Saturday morning. Upon finishing their meal, the pair not only paid their bill, but that of another table of diners at the restaurant. Their simple act inspired a string of other diner-goers to do the same. “It was magical. I had tears in my eyes because it never happened before. I’ve been here for 10 years and I’ve never seen anything like that,” waitress Lynn Willard told NBC Philadelphia. “It continued and continued.” According to the diner’s staff, dozens shared in the holiday high spirits, paying other patrons’ bills for the next five hours. The Aramingo’s manager said no one was concerned about the totals on the checks, which averaged between $12 and $30. “Those who took the check also tipped the waitress,” Willard said. “Nobody had to do anything other than pass it on and that’s what they did. They just passed it forward.”
