ISIS militants raised a black flag over a buidling in Kobani, Syria, just six miles from the Turkey border. The building, in the eastern part of the town, is the closest sign yet of the group's success in the battle for the town. It has been hit on three sides by ISIS artillery. Airstrikes by American and Gulf state warplanes have failed to halt the ISIS advance. Meanwhile, outgunned Kurdish forces have vowed not to abandon the largely Kurdish town. “If they enter Kobani, it will be a graveyard for us and for them," Esmat al-Sheikh, head of the Kobani Defence Authority, said. "We either win or die. We will resist to the end.”
