Secretary of State John Kerry met with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez late Thursday, marking the highest level meeting in more than 50 years. The two held private discussions after arriving in Panama for the Summit of the Americas and ahead of President Barack Obama and Cuban leader Raul Castro’s landmark meeting in the next few days. The State Department described the meeting as “very constructive,” and reportedly recommended Cuba be removed from its list of nations believed to sponsor terrorism, according to a Senate Foreign Relations Committee aide.
