U.S. airstrikes have killed 30 Al Qaeda suspects in militant-held cities in south Yemen, according to Yemeni officials. The U.S. bombed the cities, which had been seized by Al Qaeda in the midst of mass protests against President Ali Abdullah Saleh, from Wednesday to Thursday. The airstrikes also freed a Yemeni Army unit that had been fighting militants for several weeks in southeast Abyan province.
