Could it be that easy? Calling American air assaults in Libya “ very effective,” U.S. officials said Monday that they had nearly achieved their objectives and will soon be handing over control of the mission to Western allies. (Though there's been squabbling in Europe over who exactly will be taking control.) More than 130 missiles have been fired in Libya over the past three days, crippling Col. Gaddafi’s air forces and establishing a no-fly zone over the nation. There’s the still the matter of Gaddafi, though: Obama has stated that U.S. policy is that the leader must go, but this weekend’s airstrikes have yet to show any sign of ousting him.
