The trial of a Washington Post reporter arrested in Iran will start next Tuesday, according to Iranian state-run news channel Fars and a lawyer for Jason Rezaian. After nine months of being held without charge, an official in Tehran told Rezaian’s lawyer that the dual U.S.-Iranian citizen would be charged with espionage, among other things. It’s not yet clear whether his trial will be open to the public, but The Washington Post says visa requests to let a senior editor attend the trial have been unanswered.
