Queen Elizabeth II was caught on camera lamenting how rude Chinese officials were while they were preparing for a state visit last October. During a conversation with Metropolitan Police Commander Lucy D’Orsi at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, she is heard calling the incident “extraordinary.” D’Orsi said the whole event was a “testing time” and said that at one point Chinese officials even walked out of a meeting with British Ambassador Barbara Woodway and declared the visit “was off.” The queen says in the video: “They were very rude to the ambassador.” D’Orsi adds, “It was very rude and very undiplomatic, I thought.” Buckingham Palace released Tuesday’s video feed to the media after it was shot by an official cameraman for the queen.
