Kanye's Sorry Silence
So ashamed he rained on Taylor Swift's VMA parade, Kanye's "taking some time off." Here's his painful apology to Taylor, as given to Jay Leno on last night's Jay Leno Show premiere.

"He immediately knew it was wrong."

Sure, after everyone started booing his ass.

Instead of drowning in self pity and "remorse"
he could have used a little self deprecating sarcasm.

"Sorry, it's so unlike me to do something like that,
to jump up on stage, and interrupt a fellow artist."

I don't agree. Sure it would have been more slick and charismatic if he had come in all polished with self deprecation. But this came across to me as one of the most vulnerable, sincere apologies I have seen in a long time. I don't know the man personally so I have no idea if it was sincere, but that's how it played. It's up to Taylor Swift whether she forgives the guy but I suspect she will. I called him an ass yesterday but am ready to move on now. Contrast this with Chris Brown's pathetic series of excuse apologizes that never rang remotely true.

Let's be clear, this doesn't excuse what he did. Even if he was drunk (which is dubious - his Cognac is more like a prop), he made his choice and acted like an ass. Even the idea of swigging on the red carpet makes him an ass - if he thought it made him cool, he's got a pretty warped perspective. And he's done it before so it's not like he hasn't had chances to recognize his bad behavior and improve.

But he's apologized sincerely. Let's move on...

He is started on the road,to soul searching.I would like to believe his mom, would have said, how dare you,who do you think you are,?I raised a kind, talented, decent, caring, humble human being. Not a conceited ,arrogant.crude, (no manners,)and jerk. You are not the center of the world.!!!!!!!!!He said his mother would have said the same as Taylors, mom, she is very talented.Really.!!!!His mom might have gotten on stage and said to the public,my son is drunk and I am putting him in rehab, and counseling.I apologize to Taylor,a rising new, shinig star.!!!Now he can dissapear 5 years into exile.Jay leno had to treat him with silk gloves. He should be banned, not allowed, disgraced, humiliated, forgotten and then we might see a new artist flourish. For now he has learned nothing. Those who continue to invite him to participate, will face this again. He should not be given the opporSuch, talent, role models, what a waste of everything.!!To abuse all he has and not value it.

He immediately knew it was wrong even though he's been there, done that before. This is why people didn't give him the slack they'd given him before: it's a tired old excuse when all it really boils down to is lack of self control and decorum. He and Mr Wilson should hang out and cry on each others' shoulders.

He is only sorry that he didn't have more backers agreeing with him. Had others said they agreed he would be the big man on campus. Sorry Charlie better luck next time and learn to keep that flap shut!

Fake tears! Ha!

"and we are not saved..."
