I understand why Liz Cheney defends her Dad but she says the enhanced interrogation tactics were not torture but John McCain who is one of the only politicians who what torture looks and feels like said its torture. Cheney and his ilk never served in our Armed Forces so he's not an authority we should be listening to. Torture is against U.S. values and the Geneva Convention treaty. Even if it work which is doubtful, the law was broken. How can something that we condemn when used on Americans can be okay for us to use. Talk about being a hypocrit.

and Liz Cheney is an authority on torture because she is..... Who are these Cheney people suddenly showing up out of nowhere? They sure don't mind taking stands, making points and explaining clearly how things work. Don't remember them ever serving in any visible capacity....hmmmm...let me think... nope?

Well when another member of the Cheney family start coming forward to defend the use of torture I'm sure I'll suddenly change my viewpoint on torture being bad all together! Sure! Now I realize how GREAT dehumanizing another person can be! You've shown me the light! After Liz Cheney' 'thought provoking' words I can easily see why all people young and old should be involved in torture to get information from anyone!

Kudos to Liz Cheney! The Dems are such hypocrites. Wiesels Pelosi, Reid and other dems knew exactly what was taking place.

Honestly, they suddenly want to serve tea and biscuits to the enemy, yet they EMBRACE not just abortion, but late term abortions. Torture means "tissue damage" and "near death."

Looks like Obama needs to rethink his love and support of, especially late term abortions.

Connie,
By your own reasoning, YOU have zero credibility. You were never waterboarded, you weren't even there watching your husband being waterboarded. Your "knowledge" is all heresay. Venus' viewpoint holds as much weight as yours.

Once again VenusMuse has spoken and demonstrated that indeed you are an idiot. Your ramblings confirm that the ability to form a cohesive thought is not a skill you have. Please stop commenting.

That's exactly what we need more Cheney's on air you know what they all (Cheney's) should go with Sean Hannity and be water boarded as a group on tv for the troops families of course and then tell us all how it wasn't torture. Put your money where your mouth is all in the name of charity of course

As I've wriiten on another blog, this interview by Liz Cheney was incredible. She is very good at arguing the impossible.
I'd like to see her argue that Black is White, Red is Green, Good is Bad (She already, here, has made he argument that Bad is Good), and other equally nonsensical scenerios. She obviously hopes that all this controversy and inane argumentation helps the sales of the book that she is helping her Dad write.

I have two words for Liz, and her father - GET LOST... Who cares about your opinion. Your father got us into this mess. He does not care one iota for the American people. He's arrogant and talks down to us. He got rich off this war, and he will do anything to keep it going. Liz is just a puppet...

Liz is living in the same bubble as her parents. They all live by if your tell the same lie hundreds of times it will usually be taken as the truth by enough people to give cover. The truth is Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld pushed for the use of illegal torture to see it they could link Osama Bin Laden to Iraq by the torture of upper level Al Queda members. So they tortured one of them over 180 times and got nothing. Torture got Cheney nothing but he continued to lie about some link between OBL and Iraq and lie about WMD. This man and now his daughter are beyond any doubt lying to cover Cheney's A$$ but it won't do any good.

Liz Cheney is one of the most intelligent women I have ever heard. I do hope she will run for office. I, for one, am proud of how OUR governmet used their techniques. They were able to STOP another scheduled attack. Good for them. Mr. Cheney is very intelligent. I wish his health weren't so bad so he could run for President in 2012. We need to get the present clown out of office.
