Sorry, Mickey: Sean Penn Wins It
In one of last night's few surprises (just ask Nate Silver), Sean Penn, showing some humor but delivering the inspiring/annoying political stuff as well, wins Best Actor.

Sean Penn is one rare human being. Enormously talented and courageous at the same time. Thedailybeast should stop being so conservative and recognize Penn's gut to speak out against the invasion of Irak when most people where still brainwashed. Cheers to one of the greatest actors of his generation and many oscars more!

Xesenta,

Great watching the show with you. That Banquet Beer really goes down smooth, and the cocktail weenies hit the spot. Lucky Xpin, for winning the Oscar pool - those GD tech categories!

Sorry I freaked out when you kissed me at the end of the night - I was a little tipsy, and I didn't know that it was something you and Xpin had planned beforehand. Next time I will be more prepared, and we can have some fun. I also have both Wild Orchid movies, so I can bring those over!

See you at Wal-Mart.

I agree with Mr Penn on the issue of gay marriage. Nevertheless, he is an insufferable, magisterial, pompous jerk. Who is he to use his podium to insult and pour shame on a huge segment of the population which includes three-quarters of the black population of california, not to mention his "elegant" president.
Anyone with a modicum of decorum would have the decency to express himself with deference and humility. Something along the lines of, "Please understand that these are people who wish to devote themselves to caring and loving for another person. How can that harm anyone?"
Furthermore, the filmmakers are not courageous. Harvey Milk was courageous. His mimics and chroniclers, not so much.
Well, what do we expect from a cocaine-addled, philandering squawk-box who likes to pal around with communist dictators who, by the way, would sooner put homosexuals and filmmakers to death than allow them to speak and live freely.
