Tracy Quan is lovely and articulate. An all too rare combination.
Leonia, Are you saying the interviewer was lovely and articulate? or the interviewee?
Ida Jeng, the interviewee, critiqued the pull-out method article nicely, but then she said everyone from anywhere other than New York is basically a country bumpkin, which offended me.
For me, anyone who disparages the rest of the country in favor of a particular city is certainly not lovely.
yes, I agree...I think she's correct in a vary narrow sort of way, that there are many things about NY that are quite *different* from the rest of the country - one of these things may be average education level, or a greater risk of gross STDs - either of these may correlate with an increase in smarter, safer sex.
But I think it's pretty uppity to say that NY is "ahead"
Also, as an "adult" researcher, I took offense to her claim that it is completely normal for me to cover my ass.
What does she suggest?
(dang this fired me up... I actually created a TDB account just to get this off my chest)
Ida Jeng, I bite my thumb at you.
DB slams the NYT. I love left wing media outlet on left wing media outlet crime!
Thank you.
