Before sitting down for an extended interview with Hillary Clinton that covered everything from Ben Carson’s pyramid theories to Donald Trump’s upcoming SNL gig, Jimmy Kimmel invited a room full of small children to weigh in on the question of whether the country is ready for a female president.
After the kids—and the two boys in particular—more or less dismissed the idea out of worry she might paint the White House pink or enact “girl rules” like free makeup for the world, the late night host surprised them by bringing Clinton herself into the room to convince them otherwise.
Fortunately, they did seem to know who she was, but it took some effort on the part of the candidate to bring them around on the idea of a woman in the White House.
“Well, you know, we haven’t had a woman to be president yet, so we need to have a woman to be president and then you would have more evidence to base your decision on,” Clinton said near the end of the segment.
