In a video segment produced by Le Petit Journal, a reporter asks a young French boy if he understood what had happen during the attacks. The visibly terrified boy had convinced himself that he and his family needed to move.
“We have to be really careful because we have to change houses,” said the boy.
“Oh no, don't worry — we don't need to move out. Paris is our home,” replied the father.
The son went on to express his fear of the “bad guys” and their guns, until his father interrupted with a heart-warming statement to put his son at ease.
"They might have guns, but we have flowers."
This touching video is a powerful example of how to discuss catastrophic events with our children.
