Former SiriusXM shock jock Anthony Cumia was arrested this weekend after an alleged domestic abuse incident at his Long Island home, and was subsequently charged with second-degree strangulation. His victim, 26-year-old Dani Golightly, live-streamed a portion of the incident.
“Hi, I’m in Long Island, I got my hand broken, I’m waiting for police to come," she narrated to Periscope viewers, as Cumia could be heard joking around in the background. "I tried to call the police, but he turned the phone off.”
The camera jostles, and she starts to run: "Oh my God, don’t hit me!” she shouts. “Stay away from me!”
“Ladies and gentlemen, it’s the Anthony and Dani Show,” the 54-year-old radio star mocks her while holding what appears to be a beer in his hand. Cumia was fired from the long-running Opie and Anthony show in 2014 after he went on a racist Twitter tirade against a black woman.
Cumia entered a not-guilty plea Sunday for the incident and was released from custody. He’s been ordered to stay away from Golightly, whom the New York Post identified as the stand-up comic daughter of comedian Vinnie Brand.
He’ll return to court on January 4.
