MTV is goo goo for Gaga. The 24-year-old pop star made history on Tuesday when the network announced that she’s been nominated for 13 MTV Video Music Awards—the most ever received by a musician in a single year. “I’m so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history,” Gaga told People magazine. “Ironically, I’m even more proud it’s an unlucky number: 13.” Gaga’s hit songs “Bad Romance” and “Telephone” are even competing against each other for best choreography and video of the year. Behind Gaga, but also leading the pack, are Eminem with nine nominations, Beyoncé with eight, her husband, Jay-Z, with four, and newcomer Ke$ha, who also is up for four awards. We’ll find out who will win big when the ceremony airs live on September 12.
