The White House doesn't quite understand how Rickrolling works, but kudos for trying to bring levity to the debt-ceiling debacle. After someone complained via Twitter that “This WH correspondence briefing isn't nearly as entertaining as yesterday's,” the White House immediately retweeted it. Then it followed up by saying “fiscal policy is important, but can be dry” and offering a “more fun” link to Rick Astley's '80s music video “Never Gonna Give You Up.” Generally, Rickrolling entails tricking someone into clicking on the link. Earlier this year, the Oregon State Legislature compiled an entire performance of the song by interspersing lyrics in their day-to-day operations.
