Will Ferrell is going to ensure Steve Carell leaves The Office with a bang. The fellow comedic actor has signed up for a four-episode stint on the NBC hit, in which he’ll play a branch manager from the home office. Though Ferrell’s a longtime friend of Carell, his arc will also assist NBC by extending one episode past Carell’s exit, helping create a bridge for the show. “We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star,” said The Office’s executive producer. “We are proud to continue The Office’s tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they’ll see what we see, tremendous raw sexuality.”
