Rebecca Martinson, the author of a profanity-laden email to her sorority sisters that got leaked and went viral last week, has resigned from the University of Maryland's Delta Gamma sorority chapter, according to a statement posted on the sorority's Facebook page. The email, originally posted on Gawker, railed against her fellow sisters for being "so f---ing AWKWARD and so f---ing BORING" in front of a fraternity during Greek Week. "Newsflash you stupid cocks: FRATS DON'T LIKE BORING SORORITIES," part of the email read. "Oh wait, DOUBLE F---ING NEWSFLASH: SIGMA NU IS NOT GOING TO WANT TO HANG OUT WITH US IF WE F---ING SUCK, which by the way in case you're an idiot and need it spelled out for you, WE F---ING SUCK SO FAR." "The tone and content of the email was highly inappropriate and unacceptable by any standard," part of the sorority's statement read. "This email should not be depicted in any way as standard or routine or tied to any official sorority voice. It is not an official voice or message and should not be construed as such."
