Hundreds turned out in the small town of Valley Springs, California, to attend the vigil for Leila Fowler, an 8-year-old girl who was stabbed to death on Saturday. Leila’s 12-year-old brother, Justin, told police he saw an intruder at their house who then allegedly ran off, and then he found her severely injured. She died at the hospital. Justin led the shocked town in a candlelit vigil on Tuesday, declaring, “I’m not saying goodbye to Leila yet ... there are no goodbyes.” Leila’s mother, Krystal Walters, made a short statement at the vigil before bursting into tears. No suspect has been named in the case.
