On Friday morning, Iowa Senate Republican Communications Director Kristen Anderson approached coworkers with a plan to change a workplace environment she felt uncomfortable in. By Friday evening, she was fired—with no reason given. In an interview, she said that even senators said “things that would make you blush.” After a bit of research, she discovered the Statehouse’s sexual-harassment policy is 30 years old. Her repeated attempts at change went unresolved, she said. Anderson refused to name which senators harassed her, saying that she’s more interested in altering workplace attitudes toward women.
Iowa Statehouse staffer claims senators treated her inappropriately.
