Michelle Rodriguez plays plenty of tough characters in her movies—but she doesn’t see many women portrayed that way in the comic books she loves. “There aren’t a lot of chicks that I like at all in comics,” she said at the premiere of her movie Fast & Furious 6 (although she noted Catwoman is an exception). “As a matter of fact, in order to have one, I’d probably have to invent one. They just don’t exist now.” The fangirl lauded directors like Resident Evil: Retribution’s Paul W.S. Anderson for bringing female leads to the big screen: “It’s rare that an American man director would have that open-mindedness about having a female lead, and fight the way Paul did.” Here’s to recognizing girls who pack a punch!
