Saudi Women Jailed For Helping Woman "Defy" Her Husband

Two Saudi women jailed for trying to help a Canadian woman flee her Saudi husband.

Women's groups are up in arms over the jailing of two Saudi Arabian women who reportedly tried to help a Canadian woman leave her Saudi husband and flee the kingdom. The court has banned the two women, Fawzia Al Ayuni and Wajiha Al Huaider, from leaving the gulf nation for two years and were convicted of Takhbib, or "the incitement of a wife to defy the authority of her husband," according to The Huffington Post. Activists say they are concerned for not only the safety of the Canadian woman, but for her children as well.
