‘Above The Game’: A Guide to the Art of Rape Seduction

You read that right—and it’s already received more than $16,000 in donations on Kickstarter.

Remember when Neil Strauss penned The Game, that puerile and pathetic guide to help nerdy men get laid, with “expert advice” from pick-up artists culled from the dregs of Internet chat rooms? Sure, it was a bit lame and recommended techniques that some women might take offense to, e.g. “negging,” in which a man makes a woman feel slightly bad about herself so that she’ll beg for his approval.

But its ick-factor pales in comparison to Above The Game: A Guide To Getting Awesome With Women, a yet-to-be-published book that urges men to “force” women to “rebuff your advances” because “personal space is for pussies” and “the most successful seducers are those who can’t keep their hands off of women.”

Author Ken Hoinsky, 28, launched a Kickstarter so he could “properly publish” the advice he’s been doling out on Reddit over the past three years under the username “TofuTofu.” He initially only sought $2,000 for his project, but supporters have donated more than $16,000 to see Hoinsky’s rapey seduction tips go to print.

Take, for example, these gems:

“All the greatest seducers in history could not keep their hands off of women. They aggressively escalated physically with every woman they were flirting with. They began touching them immediately, kept great body language and eye contact, and were shameless in their physicality. Even when a girl rejects your advances, she KNOWS that you desire her. That’s hot. It arouses her physically and psychologically.”

“Decide that you’re going to sit in a position where you can rub her leg and back. Physically pick her up and sit her on your lap. Don’t ask for permission. Be dominant. Force her to rebuff your advances.”

Sex: Pull out your cock and put her hand on it. Remember, she is letting you do this because you have established yourself as a LEADER. Don’t ask for permission, GRAB HER HAND, and put it right on your dick.”

That’s right, boys, consent isn’t going to help you get your hands up a woman’s skirt. “Force” is a much better bet. History has shown us that “aggressively escalated” physical contact is fast and foolproof, according to Hoinsky. It also constitutes sexual assault. But let’s not ruin the fun for all the nitwits out there who will have to learn this the hard way, when taking Hoinsky’s advice lands them in jail.

It’s worth noting that aversion to the Kickstarter program (and Kickstarter itself) was sparked by male comedian Casey Malone’s blog post, in which he slammed Hoinsky for condoning sexual assault in a book, disguising it as harmless advice, and then crowdsourcing it for cash.

Does the material in Above the Game really merit $16,000 in Kickstarter donations? It’s enough that there are hundreds of creepers on Reddit already sharing these “tips” in the art of seduction. If you think Kickstarter is breaking its own rules of prohibiting “offensive material (hate speech, etc),” report the project or sign this petition to axe it.
