A sixth-grade girl at Strong Rock Christian School in Georgia was told that she was not allowed to play on the boys football team next year. Maddy Paige was the starting left defensive tackle for the team, until she was informed by the school that "the boys were going to start lusting after her and have impure thoughts." The school also claimed that locker-room talk among the boys was inappropriate for Maddy to hear, even though she uses a separate locker room. The school’s athletic director, in a statement, said the official policy states that “middle school girls play girl sports and middle school boys play boy sports.” Maddy and her mother have launched a Facebook page, Let Her Play, and are campaigning for female athletes everywhere to be allowed to play. It has more than 11,000 likes as of this afternoon.
