In a video that went viral earlier this week, actor Dustin Hoffman broke down in an emotional interview about how his roll in 1982's Tootsie changed him. In the film, where he cross-dressed and transformed into a woman, they tried to make him look like the most beautiful woman he could be. But what rubbed him wrong was when he went to his wife and said "I know that if I met myself at a party I could never talk to that character because she doesn't fulfill, physically, the demands that we're brought up to think women have [to have] in order for us to ask them out." A sad truth that it took putting on the shoes, or rather heels, of a woman for him to realize.
The author spoke of a harsh reality he only learned in filming his movie 'Tootsie.'
