Cable news has been constantly covering Texas’s proposed anti-abortion law for weeks, but it seems the stations have left out a major part of the conversation: women’s health experts. According to a news analysis from Media Matters, of the 92 people asked to speak on air, only four were women’s health experts. Networks like Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN mostly feature political pundits—not doctors or health experts. Think Progress pointed out last year, during debates about Obamacare, cable-news shows repeatedly called in men to speak about the issue and on birth control by a 2–1 margin.
