All the single ladies, now put your mortgages up! The National Association of Realtors reported that single women are 18 percent of homeowners—whereas single men only make up 10 percent. The report said that this trend of bachelorettes buying homes at twice the rate of bachelors has been accelerating since the mid-1990s. A representative said that women are picky buyers as well, and won't purchase a house that's going to take a lot of fixing up. Meanwhile, The Huffington Post reports that single, childless women may be on the way to out-earn their male counterparts.
