Spitzer Considers Himself a ‘Feminist’

“Devout dedication to women’s rights.”

Did they ask Ashley Dupre or Silda Spitzer for other opinions? The disgraced former governor—and current candidate for comptroller of New York City—said on Tuesday that he considers himself a feminist. “I hate to hide behind the line [that] life is complicated,” Spitzer told Chris Hayes on All In With Chris Hayes on MSNBC. Spitzer insisted he has a “devout dedication to women’s rights, on the issues of choice, and the issues of equal pay or issues of anti-discrimination.” Hayes also called out Spitzer about refusing to release his full tax returns, when in 2012 Mitt Romney presidential campaign he urged Romney to release his own. Spitzer responded, “Romney has now made paying taxes the litmus test for good moral standing in our community.”
