Donate Used Cellphones to Help Domestic-Violence Victims

Campaign lasts until November 1.

DoSomething.org has teamed up with MTV and is asking you to turn in your used cellphone, which will then be recycled or refurbished, with the proceeds going to help victims of domestic violence. The money will go to the Network to Aid Domestic Violence in its Technology Safety Program. To participate, users will sign up for the campaign at dosomething.org/survivors and then collect cellphones in their communities (and donors should erase all personal data from phones before sending). When a collection is complete, a free shipping label is available on dosomething.org/survivors.
