Kenyans Rapists’ Punishment: Mow Grass

Outrage growing on social media, throughout country.

A teenage girl was allegedly gang-raped, buried in a 20-foot latrine, and left for dead by her six attackers in Kenya—and when she identified three of the men and neighbors brought them to the local police station, officers made them cut grass as punishment and then let them go. Now, an online petition by Avaaz.org calling for justice for the girl—nicknamed Liz by the media—has garnered over a million signatures, and supporters on social media are calling for the arrest of the suspects and the officers who let them go with the hashtag #StandWithLiz.
