‘Queen Bees’ Hard-Wired to Rule

Teen psychologist blames it all on “hormones.”

Regina George of Mean Girls fame isn’t alone—and it’s not her fault. {sychologist and blogger Jennifer Powell-Lunder says that what sets the “queen bee” of today’s high schools apart is her audacity and confidence at a time when most girls are awkward and unsure of themselves: “She understands that the majority of her peers do not possess the confidence or the callousness to treat others in the way she chooses.” But according to Powell-Lunder, a queen bee’s victims eventually outgrow her and move on. Is butter a carb, anyone?
