Tina Brown, founder and CEO of Tina Brown Live Media, has announced that award-winning journalist Katie Couric will sit down for a rare live interview with President Jimmy Carter at the fifth annual Women in the World Summit, taking place April 3-5, 2014. Carter will reveal his surprising new crusade for the human rights of the world's women in his conversation with Couric, the new Global Anchor for Yahoo and host of Katie. He has also written a soon-to-be released book on the subject titled A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence and Power. “I am convinced that discrimination against women and girls is one of the world’s most serious, all-pervasive and largely ignored violations of basic human rights,” Carter wrote in his proposal for the book. Couric and Carter join a powerful list of attendees including IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde, Laurene Powell Jobs, Meryl Streep and many more appearing at the summit at New York's Lincoln Center. Tickets are on sale now.
