Meghan McCain: Murder ‘Jokes’ Aren’t Funny
Meghan McCain lambasted conservative pundit Ann Coulter for joking that McCain should be murdered, although Coulter insisted that “everybody laughed” when she said it. In a column on Fox News’s website (that has since been deleted), Coulter wrote that “MSNBC’s Martin Bashir suggested that Republican senators need to have a member of their family killed for them to support Democrats’ gun proposals. (Let’s start with Meghan McCain!)” McCain, who has had beef with Coulter in the past, tweeted in response that she “should expect nothing less but am disgusted nonetheless,” and “my father is a very famous politician. My family gets a lot of threats. Joking about me being killed really isn’t appropriate.” On Hannity on Thursday, Coulter didn’t exactly say she was being sarcastic, but she said “the exclamation point made it clear. And the fact that everybody laughed when they read it.” Hopefully the Secret Service sees it the same way.
