MOMMY AND ME TIME
Yahoo Extends Maternity Leave
Yahoo employees might not be able to work from home anymore, but they’ll be able to stay home for longer after having a child. CEO Marissa Mayer, two months after banning telecommuting, expanded Yahoo’s maternity policy to allow new mothers to take 16 weeks of paid leave and fathers to take eight weeks. That’s about twice as much leave as Yahoo employees previously got, though it still lags behind other Silicon Valley companies like Google, which offers 22 weeks, and Facebook, which offers four months to parents of both sexes.
