Monday Is the Last Day for Plan B Appeal
This guessing what the government is going to be doing on the morning-after pill is exhausting. Monday is the last day for the government to appeal a Brooklyn judge’s decision to allow the emergency contraceptive for purchase over the counter. The Justice Department had filed a stay while it appealed the decision, which federal Judge Edward Korman rejected, although he did postpone the enforcement of his decision until Monday. Earlier this month, the Food and Drug Administration ruled the morning-after pill could be sold without a prescription, and Korman has slammed Kathleen Sebelius, the secretary of Health and Human Services, as playing politics.
