Michigan School Bans Teens’ Baby Bumps From Yearbook
Think it might be a little late for this. A Michigan school tried to cut photos of two pregnant students, saying it violated the state’s (clearly ineffectual) abstinence policy. Kimberly Haney said she “went to the bathroom and cried” when the yearbook staff asked to retake her picture so it didn’t show her baby bump. White Cloud School Superintendent Barry Seabrook insists “we’re not saying they can’t have their pictures in the yearbook,” just that new photos will be taken. But Haney and the other student, Deonna Harris, said they will not retake their photos.
