THE MORNING AFTER
Some Emergency Contraceptives To Go OTC
Both one-night-standers and committed couples may have something to rejoice about—some morning-after pills will be made more accessible. A U.S. Court of Appeals ruled some two-pill medications for emergency contraception can be made available over the counter immediately. An appeal of a court decision to remove all age restrictions on the pills is still pending. In late April, the FDA aimed to change rules on Plan B One-Step to make it available only to those age 15 and over with proper identification. The White House has since requested and been granted a delay to keep one-pill products like Plan B restricted to women ages 15 and over.
