Susan Rice Starts as National Security Advisor
Susan Rice, the former ambassador to the United Nations, started her new job Monday as President Obama's national security advisor. Rice's new job was announced in early June, and she made it official on Monday. "Truly honored to have served the President for the last 4.5 years at the UN & excited to begin as @whitehouse National Security Advisor," Rice tweeted on Monday morning. Rice also changed her Twitter handle to reflect her new position- you can now follow her @AmbassadorRice. In the wake of the wire-tapping scandal at the NSA, Rice added a little humor by reminding her followers that, "tweets may be archived."
