Debunking the Menopause Mystery

Much is unknown, like an association with memory loss.

It’s something every women will go through—menopause. Women, according to Forbes, have a variety of health problems as they enter menopause, but little is understood about the physical and mental changes that stem from it. As a culture, we see menopause as bothersome, rather than as a cause of the actual medical problems it can bring about. A study from the University of Chicago linked menopause to decreased memory function. And many women are hard-pressed to get insurance to cover medications for menopausal symptoms. “Negative press, little medical literature, and low financial assistance often leaves women to suffer through menopause silently,” according to Forbes.
