Two Ex-Navy Football Players Face Court-Martial
Two former Navy football players will face a court-martial for their alleged roles in the alleged sexual assault of a female midshipman, the U.S. Naval Academy announced on Thursday. Joshua Tate, 21, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and making false statements, and Eric Graham, 21, has been charged with abusive sexual contact and making false statements. The third player charged, Tra’ves Bush, 22, will not face court-martial. The decision to court martial came from Academy Superintendent Michael H. Miller, who the alleged victim has asked to be recused from the case due to bias. A judge blocked that request earlier this week. The alleged victim said investigators tried to intimidate her and questioned her closely about her drinking the night of the alleged assault and how she performed oral sex.
